Jim set up Freedom Bakery CIC social enterprise with Matt Fountain. The bakery operates in the commercial marketplace wholesaling artisan bakery goods. In delivering this work, it create jobs and training for people with convictions.
Highlights of successes in building this business from a standing start included:
– negotiating both private sector SITR and 3rd sector start up social investment
– building up to a £900k pa turnover
– establishing a 15%-20% net profitability
– creating 16 jobs
– impacting on the lives of 40 people with convictions through training and employment.
